Interdisciplinary research training: NCD epidemiology and prevention in India

 

Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) invites applications from high caliber, self motivated candidates for two years Post Doctoral Research Training to commence in mid 2012 in the fields of nutrition, early life influences, life style, environmental health, non-communicable diseases and population science disciplines (epidemiology and biostatistics, clinical trials, translation research, social sciences and health economics). Training Programme includes 5 ½ months at Emory University, USA, and 18 ½ months in India. Trainees will receive adequate stipend for the duration of the training programme. Outstanding trainees will be provided with end of training research grants and opportunities to continue working in world class research projects at our partner institutions.


Basic qualifications: MBBS/MSc with either MD or PhD. Exceptional candidates without PhD but with a good academic track record will be considered. Candidates currently in faculty or research positions in reputed institutions will be given preference.
